Dog-Friendly Cruise Promoted as First of Its Kind Turns Out to Be a Scam
A cruise that promised to let passengers bring their dogs onboard has ended in disappointment after organizers admitted the event was never officially approved by the cruise line.
The sailing, promoted by a company called Cruise Tails, was scheduled to take place aboard Margaritaville at Sea Islander from Tampa in November 2025. It was advertised as the first-ever dog-friendly cruise, inviting pet owners to "put the bark in em-bark."
However, Margaritaville at Sea later confirmed it had never authorized the event and was not affiliated with the promotion. As questions mounted, the organizers acknowledged they had not secured an agreement with the cruise line before selling the concept.
The story has become a cautionary tale for travelers. Before booking any specialty or themed cruise, it's always a good idea to verify that the event is officially recognized by the cruise line and listed through trusted booking channels.
While the idea of cruising with your dog certainly excited many pet lovers, this voyage never made it out of the kennel. It's a reminder that if something sounds too good to be true, it may be worth doing a little extra research before handing over your money.
Two Medical Emergencies Force Changes Aboard Disney Wish
Passengers aboard Disney Wish experienced an eventful sailing after two separate medical emergencies occurred within just 24 hours of each other.
The first emergency happened shortly after the ship departed Port Canaveral. Following several "Bright Star" medical alerts, the captain made the decision to return to port so the guest could be transferred to waiting paramedics. Because of the unexpected diversion, Disney Cruise Line canceled the scheduled stop in Nassau, replacing it with an additional day at sea before continuing to Castaway Cay.
Less than a day later, another passenger suffered what was reported to be a cardiac emergency. This time, rather than turning the ship around again, the U.S. Coast Guard met Disney Wish offshore and medically evacuated the 53-year-old passenger by rescue boat so they could receive treatment ashore.
While medical emergencies on cruise ships are relatively uncommon, they do happen, and this sailing is a reminder that cruise lines are prepared to respond quickly when every minute counts. Whether it's returning to port or coordinating with the Coast Guard at sea, the safety and well-being of guests always comes first—even if it means changing the itinerary.
Fortunately, despite the two emergencies, the remainder of the cruise continued as planned with the ship's visit to Disney's private island, Castaway Cay.
Carnival Testing Nachos at BlueIguana Cantina
Carnival Cruise Line may have just answered one of the most requested food suggestions from its guests. The cruise line is now testing fresh-made nachos at BlueIguana Cantina on select ships, and cruisers are already excited about the potential addition.
BlueIguana Cantina has long been a passenger favorite for its made-to-order burritos, tacos, and taco bowls, but many guests have wondered why nachos weren't on the menu. Now, Carnival is giving the popular item a trial run to see how guests respond.
If the test is successful, there's a good chance nachos could roll out to more ships across the fleet in the future.
We're especially excited about this one because it's something we've actually suggested in our post-cruise surveys. Nachos seem like a perfect fit for BlueIguana, and judging by the reaction online, plenty of other cruisers agree.
It's a small change, but sometimes it's the little upgrades that make a cruise even more enjoyable. We'll be keeping an eye on this one and hoping Carnival decides to make nachos a permanent menu item fleetwide.
Cruise Passenger Arrested After Allegedly Striking Children Aboard Carnival Glory
A Carnival Cruise Line passenger was arrested after a weekend cruise when authorities accused him of striking two children during a sailing aboard Carnival Glory.
According to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, the 44-year-old passenger allegedly hit two children in the face and stomach while they were playing a game of tag in a hallway on the ship. Investigators say one child suffered a bloody lip and head pain, while the other reported stomach pain. The incident was captured on the ship's security cameras.
Authorities said the man later claimed he did not remember what happened because he had been heavily intoxicated. After the ship returned to Port Canaveral, he was arrested and charged with child abuse and assault.
While incidents like this are rare, it's a reminder that cruise ships have extensive security systems, including surveillance cameras throughout public areas, and serious incidents at sea can quickly become criminal investigations once the ship returns to port.
For most guests, cruises are a safe and enjoyable vacation, but this incident shows that disruptive or violent behavior—especially when alcohol is involved—can have serious consequences both onboard and ashore.
Viral Video Shows Cabin Flooding Aboard Allure of the Seas
A viral video from Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas shows water pouring from the ceiling of a Deck 12 stateroom, flooding the cabin and spilling into the hallway. By the time nearby passengers began recording, the room had standing water covering the floor, soaking the bed, furniture, luggage, and just about everything inside.
According to passengers onboard, the leak was caused by a plumbing issue in the deck above. Royal Caribbean's maintenance team responded quickly, stopping the leak, cleaning up the water, and assisting the affected guests. Reports from passengers indicate those whose cabins were impacted were offered a 50% Future Cruise Credit, while the sailing continued as scheduled.
While scenes like this can look dramatic, they're actually very rare. With hundreds of thousands of people cruising every week, occasional maintenance issues are bound to happen. It's also a good reminder of the incredible work done behind the scenes by maintenance crews, who often solve major problems before most passengers ever know about them.
Now we'll turn it over to you. If this had been your cabin, would a 50% Future Cruise Credit be enough, or would you expect something more? Let us know what you think in the comments!
