Virgin Voyages Introduces a New Caribbean-Inspired Menu at The Beach Club at Bimini

If you're sailing with Virgin Voyages and have a stop at The Beach Club at Bimini on your itinerary, there's something new to look forward to beyond the beach and swimming pools. Virgin Voyages is introducing an entirely new food menu at its exclusive beachfront destination in The Bahamas, bringing more traditional Caribbean flavors and family-inspired recipes to the dining experience.

The new menu was developed from scratch and draws inspiration from the food, traditions and flavors of The Bahamas and the wider Caribbean. For cruisers who have visited Bimini on a previous Virgin Voyages sailing, the updated offerings will provide something different to try on their next visit.

Virgin Voyages worked with Chef Rashida Holmes and Levi Mezick, the cruise line's Senior Director of Culinary Experience and Development, to create the new menu. Holmes brings personal connections to the food through her Bajan and Trinidadian roots, with several dishes inspired by the recipes and flavors she grew up enjoying.

One of the standout offerings is the Curry Chicken Roti, which is based on a recipe from Holmes' mother, Joy, who ran a restaurant called Bridgetown Roti. The dish features curry chicken alongside Yukon Gold potatoes and turmeric-spiced cabbage, bringing a traditional Caribbean favorite to the beach.

Holmes also has a story behind another item on the menu. During the pandemic, she launched a Caribbean patty business through Instagram, and the patties reportedly sold out almost immediately. Now, those Caribbean-style patties are making their way onto the menu at The Beach Club at Bimini, with options including snapper and beef.

Other dishes bring together a variety of sweet, smoky and spicy flavors. Tamarind BBQ Pork Skewers feature a sweet-smoky glaze and green pepper chimichurri, while Coconut Curry Channa combines chickpeas with a house pepper curry and fenugreek. Guests looking for something lighter can try a Little Gem salad with coconut seasoning, while grilled shrimp served with pineapple chow adds another Caribbean-inspired option.

Plantains and coconut also feature prominently throughout the new menu, giving guests plenty of choices to go along with a day in the sun.

Crispy fried plantains and tostones served with guacamole provide savory options, while the Sweet Plantains with salted condensed milk and candied pecans offer a sweeter take on the familiar ingredient. For dessert, the Coconut Rice Pudding comes with pineapple, dragon fruit and papaya.

The menu also includes a range of options for guests with different dietary preferences, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free choices. One of the items highlighted by Virgin Voyages is a garlic eggplant patty, giving plant-based diners another option to enjoy while spending the day at the beach.

The overall idea is to make the food part of the destination experience rather than simply offering a standard beachside menu. Between the curry, tamarind, coconut, fresh fruit and traditional Caribbean dishes, Virgin Voyages is leaning into the region's culinary influences.

When Will the New Menu Be Available?

The new menu will roll out across Virgin Voyages' fleet on a ship-by-ship schedule beginning in October 2026. The launch dates announced by the cruise line are:

  • Resilient Lady: October 12, 2026

  • Scarlet Lady: October 25, 2026

  • Brilliant Lady: November 15, 2026

  • Valiant Lady: April 10, 2027

Valiant Lady's rollout will come later, when the ship returns to its Miami sailings in the spring of 2027.

Because the menu is being introduced on different dates for each ship, passengers planning a future sailing may want to check which ship they're booked on if trying the new food is part of their plans.

The Beach Club at Bimini is Virgin Voyages' adults-only beachfront destination in The Bahamas, where passengers can spend time swimming, relaxing on the sand and enjoying the beach-club atmosphere. The new menu gives returning guests another reason to look forward to the stop, particularly those who have already experienced the destination on an earlier sailing.

Of course, the beach, the water and the chance to relax remain a big part of the appeal. But food can make a difference in how passengers remember a private beach destination, and Virgin Voyages is hoping these new Caribbean-inspired dishes will make the experience more memorable.

For cruisers who enjoy trying local flavors while traveling, the Curry Chicken Roti, Caribbean patties, tamarind-glazed pork and sweet plantains sound like some of the dishes worth looking for when the new menu arrives.

What about you? When you visit a private beach destination on a cruise, is the food an important part of the experience, or are you mostly there for the beach, swimming and relaxation?
